The Kashmir Files is a heart-wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle & trauma of Kashmiri Pandits, seen through the eyes of Krishna, the protagonist. The film questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics, and humanity.
The movie revolves around the journey of a young student Krishna (Darshan Kumar), who goes from being brainwashed by professor Radhika Menon (Pallavi Joshi) to finally learning about what’s presented as the true events of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.
The film portrays the events surrounding the exodus as a “genocide“, in which thousands of Kashmiri Hindus were massacred, women raped and children shot. The displaced families are shown living as refugees till today.

Anupam Kher gives a mind-blowing performance as Pushkar Nath. The way he speaks the Kashmiri accent and goes about his tense role is amazing. Anupam Kher has done over 500 films but it looks like he has saved the best for this film. How he interacts with actor Darshan Kumar and the emotional moments they share, Kher is just special.
Darshan Kumar is also very good in the film. Though he gets towered by people like Anupam Kher, he gets a very good scope to kill it in the climax and Darshan is amazing. But the best of the film is Pallavi Joshi who plays her role superbly. Her strong voice, express eyes emote a lot and draw your attention into the narrative so nicely. Mithun Chakraborty is also seen in a key role and is okay but the required impact is not received through his role in a few scenes.
A saga of the true history of Kashmir which is not part of our history textbooks.
Kashmir is an integral part of India and will always be.
The Kashmir Files and the story of Kashmiri Pandits’ exile. The forgotten exodus, genocide, and ethnic cleansing.
The movie has not shown the whole truth as it is not possible to cover the whole tragedy in 170 minutes but the movie depicts what is Kashmir and it belongs to those who are real Kashmiri.
‘Kashmir is a separate country’: Punjab Congress leader’s remarks spark row
Balwinder Singh Mali, one of four advisors to Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, sparked a massive row with his controversial remarks on the issue of Kashmir. In a tweet, Mali wrote, “Kashmir is a separate country, and India and Pakistan are illegal occupants. It belongs to the people of Kashmir.” The tweet has attracted criticism from various quarters, both within and outside the Congress party.
I just want to say to this fool. Kashmir “was, is and shall forever” remain an integral part of India. 🇮🇳
